Here's a brief recap of our recent owners event in the Smoky Mountains, as promised!
Over 100 smart enthusiasts and 48 cars came from as far as South Florida and Canada for a few days of fun in the Great Smoky Mountains this past weekend. Most notably, a father and son showed up a day late in a black Charger. Why? They were determined to join our convoy down the Tail of the Dragon.
But they were in a terrible accident the day before (see attached news article) and their brand new smart car was totaled. They both had fresh cuts and bruises. But they posted. Joe Manuel, the father, told me they wouldn't miss this for the world and he wasn't kidding. This event could have taken on a much darker tone had Mr. Manuel and his son been seriously injured (or worse). Thankfully, our little smart car saved their life and now Austin Manuel is in the market for a Brabus; he's buying one from Charlotte Dutton in Orlando as soon as it hits her store.
On Saturday morning Mr. Manuel said he would be honored if his son could drive with me in my smart car with the other 47 cars down the Tail of the Dragon. He came from Orlando, survived a potentially fatal accident the day before... ("Honored.") "Gladly," I said. Austin drove on the way back up. We screamed at every one of the 318 curves during that 11 mile run back up to Fontana Village. They spoke at our private dinner event on Saturday night to a group of passionate owners and enthusiasts and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Talk about loyalty.

Dignity U Wear Partners with The Brumos Companies and Jacksonville Jaguars to Keep Children Warm
Employees and Players to Distribute Clothing at Two Local Schools on November 8
Jacksonville, FL (October 24, 2011) ó Dignity U Wear (Dignity) is on a mission to provide new coats, gloves, scarves and hats to 1,500 local school children in need for the upcoming winter months. Local supporters have joined Dignity to make their One Jacket program a success, including The Brumos Companies as the lead sponsor for the One Jacket program. The Brumos Companies and Jacksonville Jaguar Quarterback Blaine Gabbert, will roll into two Jacksonville public schools on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 to deliver new clothes and hope.
Timucuan Elementary School will open their doors to receive warm clothing for students at 9 a.m. The distribution at Woodland Acres Elementary School will take place at 11 a.m, with the support of Communities in Schools, www.cisjax.org, Jacksonvilleís leading drop-out prevention program. High performing student ambassadors at both schools will be on-site to meet the new starting quarterback.

Alright Brumos Team ñ we have two ways to participate:
1. GETTING MUDDY: Join the Brumos Mud Fest Team and get dirty for the cause. We have 24 slots available for participants. The registration fee has been waived as part of our sponsorship. A minimum of $100 raised in donations is required.
2. DAY OF THE EVENT: Volunteer at the Mud Fest and work at the Brumos Obstacle on the course (simple training provided) to cheer on all the participants as they compete. Looking for 6 Volunteers at each shift.There are two shift options: 7am ñ 12NOON or 12noon ñ 5pm
